> How to activate your Capital One card by phone.

# Activate Your Card by Phone

Prefer to talk to an automated system? You can activate a new Capital One card by calling the phone number printed on the sticker attached to your card.

  Phone activation is helpful when you cannot access **capitalone.com/activate** or the mobile app.

## Steps

1. Locate the phone number on the sticker attached to your new card.
2. Call from the phone number listed on your Capital One account, if possible.
3. Follow the automated prompts.
4. Enter your card number using the keypad.
5. Enter the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number.
6. Confirm your identity with any other details requested.
7. Wait for the confirmation message that your card is active.
8. Peel off the activation sticker and sign the back of your card.
