Sign In to Lock Card → Contact Support → Lock or unlock your Capital One card If you misplace your card, you can lock it right from your online account or the mobile app. Unlock it later if you find the card.
Locking your card blocks new purchases but does not close your account.

Steps

  1. Sign in to your Capital One account or app.
  2. Go to the Services or Card Settings menu.
  3. Find the card you want to lock.
  4. Toggle the Lock Card switch to on.
  5. Confirm the action if prompted.
  6. To unlock later, return to the same screen and turn the switch off.
A lock icon appears on the card once it is successfully locked.

Helpful Tips

  • Lock the card immediately if you cannot find it.
  • Recurring payments may still process while your card is locked.
  • Order a replacement if you’re sure the card is lost.
If you believe your card was stolen, Contact Support right away instead of just locking it.
